Know you and the others.
Why is it easy to get along with some people than others?
That day, I learned that when I talk to
someone, they understand my message based on their own experiences and
opinions. This means they might interpret what I say differently than I
intended. To avoid miscommunication, I need to consider the other person's
point of view and make sure we both understand each other before moving
forward.
In “Surrounded by Idiots” book, four types of
people exist.
They are,
· Red Colored people
· Blue Colored people
· Green Colored people
· Yellow Colored people
You have the ability to select the color that
represents your behavior, meaning that you can control how others perceive you
through the way you act.
Due to their behaviors, it is difficult for
all of these individuals to coexist harmoniously. However, by identifying which
individuals share similar traits (represented by colors in the structure), it
is possible for them to stay together with less conflict.
The colors Blue and Green can form a
compatible pair, as can Red and Yellow. It is also possible for Blue and Red,
as well as Green and Yellow, to work together effectively in certain
situations. However, diagonal combinations (e.g., Blue and Yellow or Green and
Red) may experience some challenges in terms of communication and collaboration.
When
a team consists of members representing all personality colors, they can
effectively accomplish their tasks. The Yellow personality, known for creativity
and innovation, can contribute new ideas to the team. The Red personality,
being decisive and action-oriented, can take charge of making important
decisions. The Green personality, who excels in planning and execution, can
handle all the necessary work. Finally, the Blue personality, with a critical
eye for details and quality, can evaluate and ensure that the end result meets
the desired standards. By leveraging the strengths of each personality color,
the team can work together seamlessly and achieve success.
Group Work
Discuss the present tax policies in Sri Lanka.
Our
team, comprising eight members, had a discussion on the current tax policies in
Sri Lanka, as imposed by the government. During the conversation, we made a
conscious effort to identify each other's personality colors, which helped us
to understand and appreciate each other's perspectives.
After
a productive discussion, we reached a consensus that the government needs to be
more transparent about its expenditures, and the public must be informed about
how their tax money is being utilized. We emphasized the importance of avoiding
financial corruption and fraud and underscored the need for the government to
be trustworthy and accountable to the public. We believe that such measures can
foster public confidence and improve compliance with tax policies, ultimately
leading to a stronger economy and a better future for Sri Lanka. (Discussed by our group)
